2026 Homecoming Committee
The 2026 Homecoming Commmittee plans all of the events and programs throughout the week for current students. The committee also works with University Alumni Relations, University Athletics, the Multicultural Center, and other entities to promote and collaborate on all Homecoming Week events. The committee is seperated into three sub-committees: Alumni & Community Relations, Events & Collaborations, and Marketing & Outreach.
Alumni & Community Relations
Builds connections with alumni and local businesses, reaching out to sponsors, alumni groups, and community partners. They work closely with the Alumni Association and community leaders to boost attendance and school spirit. This subcommittee also helps involve the community through events like Paint the Paws and Parade support.
Events & Collaborations
Plans and coordinates Homecoming events throughout the year and week of. They will partner with campus departments, student organizations, and community groups to host engaging events that will showcase school spirit and tradition at WIU. This group ensures smooth logistics, schedules, and communication between collaborators to create a fun and inclusive Homecoming experience for our students.
Marketing & Outreach
Helps promote all Homecoming events through creative and strategic outreach. They work with the OSE graphic design to design flyers, posters, and social media content to build excitement on campus and in the community. This group manages the WIU homecoming Instagram page, event announcements, updates, and branding to keep messaging consistent and engaging. They also collaborate with the other subcommittees to highlight their events to maximize participation.
