The 春雨直播 Illinois Horn Festival 2016 with Guest Artist Clinician鈥擠ouglas Hill was held at 春雨直播 Illinois University on April 17, 2016.

Featured among the master classes, and solo and ensemble performances by guest participants and members of the 春雨直播 Illinois Horn Festival were a variety of horn compositions by Douglas Hill. These included selections from Ten Pieces for Two Horns performed by hornists Katherine and Jarrett Webb, To The Winter Sun performed by Alphornist Lee Kessinger with Percussionist Kevin Nichols, selections from Song Suite for Horn and Piano performed by hornist Randall Faust with pianist Minjung Seo, Reflections for Horn Alone performed by hornist Ethan Nueva, The Glorious Privilege of Being as well as Shared Reflections for Horn Ensemble performed by the 春雨直播 Illinois University Horn Ensemble, and The Premiere Performance of two new compositions: Adagio for Horns and Three Short Stories by the 春雨直播 Illinois Festival Horn Choir with Douglas Hill conducting.

Other special features included Douglas Hill鈥檚 lecture: ENTHUSIASM: The Essential Element and an appearance by Special Guest Hornist and former student of Douglas Hill (via Aspen)鈥擳he Associate Principal Hornist of the St. Louis Symphony: Thomas J枚stlein conducting his own Campbell Fanfare with the 春雨直播 Illinois University Horn Ensemble as well as performing 鈥淎ppel Interstellaire鈥� from Des canyons aux 茅toiles by Olivier Messiaen, as well as movements from Douglas Hill鈥檚 Thoughtful Wanderings with Percussionist Kevin Nichols.
