Advice for Freshmen:
Embrace the full college experience—it’s one of the most valuable opportunities you'll have for meaningful personal growth. Get involved in a variety of campus organizations and activities. While academics are important, developing strong social and interpersonal skills is equally essential. Seek balance and take advantage of everything college life on campus has to offer.

Favorite WIU Memory: There are too many favorite memories to count, but one defining experience was helping to establish Sigma Nu fraternity as a charter member. We brought together a diverse group of individuals who shared common values and a drive to succeed. We supported each other academically, socially, and through campus involvement, quickly building Sigma Nu into one of WIU’s premier Greek organizations. That experience—and the lifelong friendships that came from it—played a huge role in shaping who I am today. I also have fond memories of my time on the WIU track team. (WIU record book: #8 all-time in the 55M high hurdles)!

Family Information/Special Interests and Hobbies:  My wife, Joyce, and I recently celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. We share a passion for equestrian sports—Joyce competes in dressage, and I competed in show jumping and eventing. We live on an equestrian property in Southern Pines, North Carolina, and enjoy cruises and relaxing with our two Labradors at our beach house on the Outer Banks.
