MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - In conjunction with the Illinois Institute for Rural Affairs (IIRA), ´ºÓêÖ±²¥ Illinois University will host two community listening sessions for the Illinois Housing Development Authority's (IHDA) 2027 Illinois Housing Blueprint development process at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, on the Macomb campus and 1 p.m. Thursday, May 21 at the Quad Cities campus.

The Macomb event will be held at Stipes Hall, room 501 and the Quad Cities event will be held at Riverfront Hall, room 103.

The Blueprint is a forward-thinking, grassroots planning initiative designed by IHDA to provide a deeper analysis of the trends and priorities around housing at a regional level that will shape the future of housing policy and investment in Illinois in the years to come. These events are part of 11 in-person listening sessions across Illinois.

At these sessions, IHDA will share data and background specific to the county and region they reside in along with how it compares to other regions in the state. These sessions will provide the opportunity to ask questions and share your thoughts and ideas with staff to ensure the 2027 Blueprint reflects resident input.

Members of the public are also asked to complete an online survey, allowing people to share their opinions to help IHDA understand local housing needs and goals of their community. Responses to the survey are anonymous and will be accepted through Friday, July 31. Please click here to take the survey.

These sessions are open to local community members, residents and leaders. To learn more about the Illinois Housing Blueprint, visit ilhousingblueprint.org.
