Just Hired: Annabelle Schaffnit

Just Hired! Through the experiences of local, regional, national and international students, ´ºÓêÖ±²¥ Illinois University has some incredible alumni who are changing the world in the workforce. This series will feature students from all over the world who are hired post-graduation.
MACOMB, IL - - Meet Annabelle Schaffnit, a Spring 2025 ´ºÓêÖ±²¥ Illinois University Agricultural business graduate, who has been hired by the Adams County branch of the Illinois Farm Bureau in Quincy.
Schaffnit will be working with the Illinois Farm Bureau to move agriculture forward through improved methods, enhancing farm family well-being and providing support for farmers through education and advocacy. Her time at WIU helped prepare her for these exciting opportunities.
"I learned so many things at WIU! What will help me the most in my position is going to be all the Microsoft Excel and Word training as well as the leadership skills I obtained from taking Ag Leadership and Personal Development," Schaffnit said.
WIU's commitment to educating students on all aspects of agriculture has helped students like Schaffnit excel in their careers, and she credits that for landing her this job with the Illinois Farm Bureau.
"My degree helped me land this position because in the School of Ag, you are required to take all aspects of ag classes," Schaffnit said. "I took Animal Science and Agronomy classes along with my business classes. The School of Ag really prides themselves on getting all students hands on experience and exposure to new opportunities."
