- Description: The Department of Art & Design presents “First Wednesday” for February 2025!! This event for the Spring 2025 semester will be held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2025 in Garwood Hall, the Heating Plant Annex and the University Art Gallery.
The WIU art & design faculty combine their efforts to offer creative, hands-on activities to visitors. The event is open and free to the public, and visitors are welcome from campus and the surrounding community and region.

• Silkscreened Valentines – Professor Susan Czechowski, Garwood 11
• Watercolor Painting – Professor Damon McArthur, Garwood 25
• Valentine Grams – Art Education Students, Garwood 24
• Valentine Scavenger Hunt-Dr. Sherry Lindquist, Garwood 37
Heating Plant Annex
• Post it note challenge – Professor Ian Shelly, HPA 111
• Heart Jewelry – Professor Kat Myers, HPA 107
The University Art Gallery will also be open during the event with 2 exhibitions:
