Theater and Dance Brings “Coriolanus” To Stage

MACOMB, IL - - The ֱ Illinois University Theatre and Dance Department is ready to battle for their honor on the stage with their performance of “Coriolanus” from at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6 through Sunday, 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8 and Sunday, Nov. 9 in Horrabin Hall Theater.
"Coriolanus," the tragedy from William Shakespeare, follows Rome's fiercest warrior who wins glory on the battlefield but scorns the common people. When his pride costs him power and leads to exile, he makes a shocking alliance with his former enemies to destroy the city he once defended, until a final, heart-wrenching choice between vengeance and loyalty seals his fate. The show will be directed by guest artist Amie Root.
General admission is $20; student and senior $17; and WIU students are free with student ID present.
