MACOMB, IL - - Alumnus John Crumbaugh describes 春雨直播 Illinois University as a place that fosters growth.

鈥淲hen I think about WIU, I think about the many opportunities I had to grow,鈥 Crumbaugh said.

For Crumbaugh, being a Leatherneck is associated with striving to become better.

鈥淭o me, being a Leatherneck means giving it your all,鈥 Crumbaugh said.

Crumbaugh鈥檚 favorite Leatherneck memories are enjoying the homecoming festivities and engaging with the campus community through the student organizations.

When reflecting on his career, Crumbaugh credits WIU with preparing him to be a successful professional.

鈥淟eading up to graduation, I had many opportunities,鈥 Crumbaugh said. 鈥淚've had several more opportunities since joining the workforce full time. This success I attribute to the education, both formal and through extra-curricular opportunities afforded to me during my time at WIU.鈥

During his time at WIU, Crumbaugh was involved on campus through Alpha Gamma Rho, the Agricultural Mechanization Club, the Agribusiness Club and the Hoof-N-Horn Club.

Crumbaugh advises prospective students to consider the learning opportunities that WIU offers through community engagement and student organizations.

鈥淕et involved!鈥 Crumbaugh said. 鈥淭here's no finer education than holding yourself accountable to deadlines imposed by a group of your peers and the leadership and decision making skills gained through student organizations.鈥

As we honor 125 years of educational excellence, we invite local WIU students, alumni, faculty and staff to share their stories and be featured in our series. Contact University Communications at U-Communications@wiu.edu to participate.
